A Fast And Minimally Invasive Solution

All-on-4 is an immediate solution for complete lower or upper tooth replacement that is as close to natural teeth as is available today. All-on-4 uses dental implant technology to place titanium implants into the jaw bone. Temporary teeth that will look very similar to your final replacement teeth are immediately attached to the implants making it virtually impossible for your new teeth to slip, shift, come loose or fall out.

Get New Teeth In One Day

Dr. Henriod and Dr. Hendry use four to six specially placed implants per arch to secure high-grade new teeth. Patients walk out with teeth in just one day. These teeth do not snap in and out and can only be removed by the dentist. Chewing power increases to about 80% of normal, and allows most patients to eat whatever they want.

Preparing For The Surgery

We use the 3D scans and plaster study models to prepare for your surgery. We plan ahead of time the exact location and angle of the implant needed to take advantage of the bone available. This means we don’t have to do any bone grafting in the majority of the cases.

We make a surgical guide to help guide the implant into position with minimal impact on the gum and bone, making the procedure minimally invasive, and your post-treatment discomfort minimal.

Preparation Of Your Temporary Teeth

As your dental implants will need time to heal before placing your permanent new teeth, you will be given temporary implant teeth the day of the implant surgery. These are fully functional and are immediately usable.

HOW ALL ON 4 WORKS?

All-on-4 uses dental implant technology to place titanium implants into the jaw bone. Temporary teeth that will look very similar to your final replacement teeth are immediately attached to the implants making it virtually impossible for your new teeth to slip, shift, come loose or fall out.

Due to the thorough pre-planning and the use of the surgical guide, your implant surgery is a relatively fast procedure. Most patients receive four implants on the bottom arch, and four to six on the top arch. How many we put in depends upon the density of the bone and how much bone is available.

If we need to extract any teeth, this is done in the same visit. As the procedure is lengthy, patients can opt to have the procedure done under IV sedation for full relaxation.

All-on-4 uses some of the highest-quality implants available, made by the best medical device companies.

Frequently Asked Questions About All On Four Dental Implants

How do All-on-4 implants compare to traditional dentures in terms of comfort?

All-on-4 implants provide a level of comfort that conventional dentures cannot match because the teeth are anchored directly into the jawbone. This eliminates slippage, sore spots, and the rubbing that many denture wearers experience. The stability also improves chewing function and speech clarity. Patients often report that their new teeth feel much more natural and require little adaptation once healing is complete.

Are All-on-4 implants suitable for patients told they lack enough bone for traditional implants?

Yes. One of the advantages of All-on-4 is that the implants are placed at strategic angles to maximize the available bone. This often allows patients with moderate bone loss to avoid bone grafting entirely. During your evaluation, the doctor reviews your 3D scan to determine whether this streamlined approach is appropriate for your specific bone structure.

Does the All-on-4 procedure look natural, or do the teeth appear bulky?

The final teeth are custom-designed to match your facial structure, smile width, and individual aesthetic goals. As they are supported by implants rather than a large acrylic base, All-on-4 teeth typically look slimmer, more lifelike, and more proportionate than traditional dentures. Your bite, shade, and tooth shape are all adjusted to create a natural, personalized appearance.

How long does the All-on-4 procedure take from start to finish?

While patients receive their temporary teeth the same day as surgery, the entire process is completed over several months. The implants need time to integrate with the bone, a process that typically takes 16 – 24 weeks. Once fully healed, your permanent teeth are crafted, fitted, and refined for optimal bite alignment and comfort. Although the process is staged, most patients appreciate having a full, functional smile immediately.

What is the cost of All-on-4 dental implants?

The cost varies depending on whether one or both arches are treated, whether extractions are needed, and the materials selected for the final teeth. All-on-4 generally costs more than removable dentures but less than replacing each tooth with an individual implant. During your consultation, you will receive a detailed, personalized estimate outlining all fees, including surgery, temporary teeth, permanent teeth, and follow-up care.

Does dental insurance cover All-on-4 implants?

Insurance coverage differs widely. Many plans contribute toward parts of the procedure, such as extractions, temporary prosthetics, or diagnostic imaging. Full implant coverage is less common, but partial benefits may significantly reduce out-of-pocket costs. The team at Pasadena Periodontics will review your policy, explain your expected coverage, and help you file insurance claims.

Can All-on-4 help improve facial appearance or sagging caused by missing teeth?

Yes. Teeth loss causes the facial structure to collapse inward over time because the bone no longer receives stimulation. All-on-4 implants restore support to the cheeks and lips, helping prevent the sunken appearance associated with long-term tooth loss. Many patients notice a more youthful profile and improved facial symmetry after their permanent teeth are placed.

How do I care for my All-on-4 implants at home?

Proper home care involves brushing twice daily, using a water flosser to clean around the implant bridge, and following any hygiene instructions provided by your doctor. Although the teeth are artificial, the gums and bone supporting the implants must stay healthy. Daily cleaning, combined with professional maintenance, significantly reduces the risk of peri-implantitis, a condition like gum disease around implants.

How can I find a trusted All-on-4 provider near Pasadena?

Patients throughout Pasadena, Altadena, San Marino, Glendale, and the greater Los Angeles area routinely choose Dr. Henriod and Dr. Hendry because they combine advanced digital imaging, guided implant surgery, and years of specialized periodontal experience. Their use of high-quality implants and customized treatment planning makes the practice a preferred referral center for full-arch implant cases.

Are All-on-4 appointments available for patients traveling from out of town?

Yes. As All-on-4 is a highly specialized procedure, many patients travel from across Southern California and even other states. The practice can coordinate consultation, surgery, and follow-up visits in a streamlined sequence to minimize travel. Whether you live in Pasadena or are flying in for care, your treatment plan can be arranged to accommodate your schedule.

After The Procedure

PERMANENT REPLACEMENT TEETH

About 16-24 weeks later we can place your permanent, high-grade teeth, aesthetically designed and fitted just for you. We adjust them as needed so that you have a fully aligned bite (how the teeth come together).

We do several bite adjustments over the upcoming weeks until your bite alignment is just right. This is an essential part of the procedure, as a misaligned bite can cause damage to your new teeth and make for uncomfortable chewing and TMJ pain. The bite must be evenly distributed for your new teeth to work optimally without causing undue stress on the implants.

CLEANINGS AND FOLLOW UP

We recommend patients get three cleanings a year to keep the implants in top condition. Dental implants are vulnerable to gum disease if not properly maintained. When implant teeth aren't cleaned well,  the tissues and bone surrounding the implants can become inflamed and eventually deteriorate causing the implant to fail. This is a condition called peri-implantitis. Our hygienists are specifically trained to clean your implant-supported teeth. Cleanings can also be alternated with your general dentist.
